GS1 Healthcare Public Policy Database – How it can work ‘for you’?

Welcome to the GS1 Healthcare Public Policy Database (PPD)
This database is a comprehensive global repository of country, regional, local regulations, directives and guidelines relating to requirements for healthcare product identification,  product catalogues and traceability as well as stakeholder agreements or user requests. This online repository is available via http://healthcare.gs1.org/pp/ and is only for global GS1 Healthcare members and GS1 Member Organisations. Each registration application will require approval by GS1, prior to the member being able to log in and access the database.
The repository information comes from staff of the worldwide network of 108 GS1 Member Organisations (MOs) and members of the global GS1 Healthcare community, or directly from governmental bodies and regulators issuing the requirements, guidelines and regulations.

Browse Dossiers

The section “Browse Dossiers” shows the regions and countries which are in the database. You can sort them alphabetically following the different sections of the table by clicking on the section title:
      -    Dossier Ref: The dossier reference number differentiates each dossier from the
other. It is composed of the country code of the GS1 Healthcare Public Policy
dossier number, followed by the ISO country code, the two initials of the product
category and the creation date of each dossier.
For instance, 472SEMD100719 (472 and SE are the GS1 Healthcare and ISO
codes for Sweden, MD stands for Medical Devices and 100719 (YYMMDD) means
that the dossier was created on 19 July 2010) - Region (according to the GS1 MO
           regional grouping)
      -    Country
      -    Enforcement Date (of the regulation/request)
      -    Product Type (Pharmaceuticals, medical devices, animal health products, etc)
      -    Latest Update
      -    Status

A search tool is available in this section for you to search more easily for key words or dates in the table

To open a dossier, you just need to click on the folder icon in front of each dossier.
Depending on your status you will be able to make changes to the dossiers or be able to read ‘only’.
