How it can work for you ?

This database provides the latest relevant regulatory requirements, stakeholder agreements and user requests related to Healthcare product identification, product catalogues and traceability at national, regional and local levels. It contains information received by the worldwide network of over 112 GS1 Member Organisations (MOs), members of the global GS1 Healthcare community, and governmental bodies and regulators involved in the Healthcare sector.

Browse Database

The section “Browse Database” allows you to search for relevant files in the database. You can sort them alphabetically following the different sections of the table by clicking on the section title:

- Region (based on the GS1 MO regional grouping)

- Country

- Enforcement Date (of the regulation/request)

- Product Type (Pharmaceuticals, medical devices, animal health products, etc)

- Latest Update (of the file in the DataBase)

A search tool is available in this section to help you search for key words or dates in the table
To open a file, you just need to click on the folder icon in front of each file.

How to submit a new file or update information?

- To suggest a new file to be added to the DataBase: please contact Geraldine Lissalde-Bonnet

- To submit updated information: If you are a GS1 member organization, you can directly modify a file by clicking Modify file at the top of each page. If you are a global member of GS1 Healthcare, you can suggest updates by sending an email to Geraldine Lissalde-Bonnet.

A change request tool is available for everyone to submit updates to a file directly.

Advanced search

The section “Advanced search” allows you to make queries following predefined criteria. These criterias are available in the first ‘drop down’ menu.
Additional query criteria will soon be added. If you would like to have a specific criteria added to these query options, do not hesitate to let us know.


Three types of report are available: by date of creation, creator or submitter. These reports allow you to see the files one after the other following the criteria you entered.

Depending upon your needs, more reports can be created; do not hesitate to let us know!
NB: You can also create reports out of your query results in the Advanced search.



The “Help” section provides you with FAQ on the Database and a glossary of common terms. We welcome your input to the Database: new requirements, changes to existing requirements, etc. To manage the consistency of the information, please send your input to Geraldine Lissalde-Bonnet

Acces Rights and information sharing

If you have access to the Database, you can share information from the database internally with your colleagues. You should not share information from the PPD with people from outside your organisation and any breach of this requirement could mean that your access to the PPD could be blocked.
