How it can work for you ?

This database provides the latest relevant regulatory requirements, stakeholder agreements and user requests related to Healthcare product identification, product catalogues and traceability at national, regional and local levels. It contains information received by the worldwide network of over 112 GS1 Member Organisations (MOs), members of the global GS1 Healthcare community, and governmental bodies and regulators involved in the Healthcare sector.

Browse Database

The section “Browse Database” allows you to search for relevant files in the database. You can use the following 6 filters to easily find the relevant information,

  • Country & Region
  • Product Type (Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Vaccine, Animal Health Products, etc.)
  • Source of request (Regulation, Tender requirement, Guidance, etc.)
  • Data Carrier (Linear, 2D, RFID, etc.)
  • Data Required (GTIN, NTIN, National Number, AIs)
  • Enforcement Date (on the chosen date or after)

And you can apply multiple filters at the same time to get more precise result.

A search box is available above the filters to help you search for key words in the Database to find the information you need.

When you have the search result, you can sort them alphabetically by clicking the “sort by” drop-down list which includes:

  • Latest Update (of the dossier in the Database)
  • Product Type (Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Vaccine, Animal Health Products, etc.)
  • Region (based on the GS1 MO regional grouping)
  • Country
  • Title (of the dossier)

To open a dossier, you just need to click on the dossier number.


How to submit a new file or update information?

- To suggest a new file to be added to the DataBase: please contact Geraldine Lissalde-Bonnet

- To submit updated information: If you are a GS1 member organization, you can directly modify a dossier by clicking “Modify Dossier” at the top of each page. If you are a global member of GS1 Healthcare, you can suggest updates by sending an email to Geraldine Lissalde-Bonnet.

A change request tool is available for everyone to submit updates to a file directly.

Acces Rights and information sharing

If you have access to the Database, you can share information from the Database internally with your colleagues. You should not share information from the Public Policy Database with people from outside your organisation and any breach of this requirement is an infringement to the GS1 “GS1 Healthcare Governance Charter” (http://www.gs1.org/healthcare/about) and to the GS1 Copyright.
